Hans Hulsbosch is an Australian designer who was originally born in Valkenswaard in the Netherlands. Hans, his wife and kids moved to Australia in 1979. Prior to the move, Hans opened his own design company called “HULSBOSCH,Communication by Design” in 1995. Australia is quite familiar with Hans as he designed their largest airline “Qanta”, also referred to as the ‘flying kangaroo’. The design for the Qantas was chosen as one of the ten best identities in the world at the Cannes Design Lion Awards. In 2008, this design received a Mobium Award in the USA.
Other Australian logos designed by Hans include are used for: Woolworths, Taronga Zoo, and the Australian Ballet. Hans and his founded company have also designed logos for other brands and some of their current clients include: Royal Caribbean International, Meals on Wheels, Volvo, Caltex, and Telstra. Hans is a talented designer and has been the only designer to receive the Federal/State Governments Telstra Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year award. In addition, his company was also awarded a Telstra Best Small Business Award.
I decided to look at the Hulsbosch website and stumbled across and interview that he took part in. I was moved by some of the interview transcript material.
When Hans was asked how he would define success, he answered:
“Success is the rare combination of finding the right balance between your passion, your business obligations and your personal life”.
I like the quote you posted... sounds like a good guy...
