Here is our place to come together as a class to post your projects and to comment on each other's work. In addition to the project work, each week you will post a short review of the work of a graphic designer found from the list of 68 Graphic Designers posted in week 1 on the syllabus. Two posts are expected from each student... project work and review work. Each counts as one attendance.

Project #2 - Poster of Cultural or Art Event
For this project, I've decided to create a flyer so that I can use to communicate to all employees at my company. Each year, I am in charge of coordinating a holiday luncheon for 450 employees starting with getting the message out and deciding on the menu and end with assigning shifts to serve by my top management. Poster below is what I will use to communicate to all employees. So much easier to to create in Photoshop than PowerPoint.

Your poster looks really great! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteMy goal for this project was to get each student to go beyond centering the main information with out taking into consideration the structure of grid design for setting the type.
ReplyDeleteAnother problem is the low resolution image used for the background image and the fact that it seems skewed or squashed inward from the sides. Skewing images is one of the major no-no's. Much better is to crop an image to fit the space.
On the plus side, I like the color scheme very much and the fun way you used the colors in "Holiday Luncheon"
