Man, this project took lots of tweaking. I struggled and its still not perfect anyway,I made an honorable effort!

I totally agree with you. It took alot of double and triple takes just to get it the way I wanted it to look.

You did a good job on your stamp collection of Usher and I like the pictures you selected.

  2. Okay, good subject, Gary... To tighten up the design, I would first lay out your margin lines on all 4 sides then adjust the type to them... Keep the distance the same all around. See how "Usher" goes right up to the edge without a margin? See the distance of the 44 from the top and side and how they are unequal?

Make the 44 much larger.. at least the size of the Usher type.

Use the lasso and select on the image behind usher, feather it and then choose image>adjustments>brightness contrast... lower the brightness by quite a bit to make the usher type pop more. Also under the 44 where appropriate.

Pull the "USA" closer to the 44 and align the edge of the U and the A with the edges of the 44.

Finally, use free transform (ctrl-T) on the scallop layer to push and pull each edge to make the amount of scallop showing perfectly even on each edge.

Shouldn't take long to do these things.. hopefully you have a version that was saved as a psd file so your layers are still active.

  3. Jerry, everything went well until placing the pictures on the scallops. I had to fine a way because it wasn't working anyway, I'll revise the series .
