Here is our place to come together as a class to post your projects and to comment on each other's work. In addition to the project work, each week you will post a short review of the work of a graphic designer found from the list of 68 Graphic Designers posted in week 1 on the syllabus. Two posts are expected from each student... project work and review work. Each counts as one attendance.

Massimo Vignelli was born in Milan Italy in 1931. He is known for his broad spectrum areas of design such as, package, furniture, and signage. Although he represented a large design area, he mainly focused, mastered, and dominated simplistic geometric forms. Eager to learn, Vignelli befriended some of the great architects before his time and participated as a groupie to master his craft. Although he congregated much practical knowledge, he perused a formal education in architecture at the politecnico di Milano and continued additional studies at the IUAV University of Venice. In 1957-60 Vignelli did his fellowship in America and he later returned in 1966 to start Unimark International which became one of the largest design firm in the world. He’s well known for identities such American Airline/American Eagle, IBM, Knoll, Bloomingdale ,and iconic signage for the New York Subway. He went on to open the Vignelli Center For Design in 2010 which is currently up and running. I will end with Vignelli famous slogan, “ if you can design one thing you can design anything.”
